Definitely top-notch.
And I notice a lot of familiar sources in the credits, such as Calculated Risk.I am definitely sending the URL on to friends and coworkers.

CricketOnTheHearthParticipantSeems like I always hear about a spike in gun sales after a new administration takes power. I think part of it is fear of the unknown– ‘these new guys might want to take away our guns’ etc.
Another product that is thriving in these times is Spam.

CricketOnTheHearthParticipantHey, OCRenter:
Thanks for all you did. Yours was one of the first RE blogs I hooked up with, after Patrick’s very good site linked to all of them. I counted it amongst the “A-List” with Piggington, Mish, Of Two Minds, and Calculated Risk.
Yours especially I found soothing, reassuring and steadying when I was furious at my crappy dwelling situation and furious that I couldn’t afford anything better. You showed me that no, I wasn’t insane; reinforced my plan to wait and save; and let me vent-by-proxy by reading your skewerings of flippers and realtor scammers. The latter were actually the parts I enjoyed most.
Of course, when poked with a sharp stick, wolves often bite back, so I can imagine you being concerned at the reactions of some of these characters.
I wish you the best, and like the others, hope you can put the blog back up someday, even as just archives.
Unless you have to turn the files over to the FBI (which might be a good sign, actually).

CricketOnTheHearthParticipantThat is really neat that RB-Home Buyer and Misheloff got together on this thread. I wonder how many prospective buyers in any given same area are connected here in this way? Sure is making it harder for “them” to pull the wool over our eyes.
RB-Home Buyer, if you have the income to sustain the mortgage and aforementioned HOA and Mello-Roos for the time period you want to keep the home, more power to you. I hope you enjoy the place.
stockstradr– I used to rent a condo in the Summit. Small world! I got kicked out, ironically, when my landlady’s ARM came due (summer of 2006). She and you were lucky, both of you sold at the peak in that complex.
sdrealtor: as far as the idea of “all those tech companies in RB” hiring more people; someone may be but it won’t be the “tech company in RB” that I work for. They just showed ~100 people the door last fall and we are in tight, tight cost-control mode. Sony on the hill has knocked down their whole plant in the previous year or so; and I can’t speak for the other companies. Given the economy I tend to think: nahhh….
No, I won’t say which tech company, honoring my company confidentiality requirements.
