CMcGParticipant
Like the o.p., I’m old as dirt (although “fifty is the new thirty-five,” supposedly). Just got my unsolicited AARP membership packet the other day! I am interested in knowing if anyone else here remembers the local Johnny Downs’ cartoon show that came on every weekday afternoon after school. Long before computers, Johnny would seemingly dance on the top of a Golden Arrow (I think that was the name of the local dairy) bottle cap.
CMcGParticipantI’ve seen a part of this list before, but yours is even better! In the 1960s, when my parents decided to move from Clairemont to the Lake Murray/Del Cerro area my sibs and I complained bitterly about not wanting to move “out to the sticks.”

CMcGParticipantHow do they decide who gets helped? Anyone know? I thought I read a couple of weeks ago that help would not be extended to anyone who heloced. Can’t remember which state was making that kind of qualification.

CMcGParticipantsdrealtor–point taken. Probably lots of inactives out there. I did read somewhere that the number of licensees was, in 2006, up 57 percent over the 2001 number.

CMcGParticipantAs of May 2006, there were 495,000 licensed real estate agents in California. That’s one real estate agent for every 52 adults in the state.

CMcGParticipantAm I being stupid or what? What is someone supposed to do with those signs? Paint them over and write FSBO?

CMcGParticipantI was kind of shocked at the price drops in La Jolla, Del Mar, and Coronado. Isn’t the Jim quoted the bearish “Jim the Realtor”?

CMcGParticipantCould be because, despite the fact that Realtors don’t like RB to be looked upon as a retirement community, in many ways it is. Parents of two of my high school friends sold their single-family homes (in Del Cerro) some 15 years ago and bought RB condos. They just didn’t want to mess around with maintenance, upkeep, etc. any more.
