I’m with Carlsbadliving. Can anyone answer his/her question? Sold off a lot of stock a few weeks ago and put the cash in what my broker called “a very safe” money market fund.

CMcGParticipantThanks, Critter. I went to bugmenot. This login works: nonono. Password: nonono.

CMcGParticipantI second sdduuuuuude’s request. This has been a truly hilarious thread — keep it up! — but I can’t get on zip. Thanks.

CMcGParticipantNorthCountyMan, I apologize for thinking you might be a troll. I personally have a 30-year fixed at 6.25 with the first 10 years interest only. I pay a little bit extra each month. Every person’s situation is different. I did this kind of loan because my financial situation will change dramatically (in my favor) in the next couple of years. Please don’t be scared to post again.

CMcGParticipantI understand trolling, but usually isn’t there some benefit, some agenda for the troll to push that will be advantageous to him? If so, I can’t figure out this one’s motive. Maybe he’s just having fun with us?
If it isn’t a troll, I’m with some others here: Don’t go interest only unless it’s for at least 10 years on a fixed 30-year rate.

CMcGParticipantesc and citydweller —
Johnny Downs lived “out in the sticks” — Lemon Grove!
I also remember playing on the dinosaur in MV and there used to be an ice skating rink in what was called “Mission Valley Center West.”
Okay, one last trip down memory lane for me: Anybody else remember cramming as many people in the car as you could (back in the days before mandatory seat belts) so you could get the two-bucks-per-car rate at the Tu-Vu?

CMcGParticipantThanks for your explanation of YSP. I was over on the implode-o-meter forum earlier today and there is a heated discussion going on about this. Since most of the posters seem to be brokers or at least a whole lot more mortgage savvy than I am (although I am trying to learn), I was completely lost and finally clicked out!
