[/quote]They won’t make enough to cover it. Besides… if you are enlisted military you aren’t getting paid that well. If I’m NAVY, even if the military gives me a stipend to cover a “tunnel toll”, I’m pocketing that and driving around the tunnel.
By tolling the bridge it makes it impossible to avoid the toll and with 80K trips a day, it decreased the toll cost overall.
I’m not advocating for a toll or a tunnel – just saying.
The tunnel is dead unless the Navy lets it daylight on the base – and they’ve said No. I think that sticks a fork in it.
