BuyerWillEPBParticipant
Coreclient,
Check out the new thread I started over at your website.
Here’s the text since I bet it will be flagged very soon… 🙂
You guys think you were wronged?
Get in line folks. The regular families priced out of a house forever because of your greedy scams were wronged first.
BuyerWillEPBParticipantI read the Temecula thread and saw
And I just had to say, “I Told You So!”
Hahaha! Check out the date when I first posted this.
🙂 Classic.

BuyerWillEPBParticipantHey temeculaguy,
Send an email to this guy and tell him about piggington.com.
Then ask him to stop by here and publish the responses he gets to his craigslist post.
That craigslist post is epic!
BuyerWillEPBParticipantConcho,
Yeah, I used to do the fun beach stuff, the surfing, and sailing, etc. I have always liked SD alot.
Now I find that I have to work so much, the 50 – 60 hour workweeks, and traffic commutes, that I don’t seem to have time to enjoy those things anymore. I’m killing myself working so much, and for what? I STILL can’t afford to live here in San Diego. It seems inevitable that I will have to move to live a decent life. I can learn new fun things wherever I live.
I have been to Arkansas a couple times. I agree with you, that it has some beautiful spots. The White River comes to mind. If memory serves (maybe I got the river name wrong) we vacationed in a cabin around there, fishing and canoeing. Some good things about Arkansas, sure thing. Although, too many bugs is one bad thing. 🙂
That’s what we in CA have to remember. Every place has some good things and some bad things. We might as well be able to live affordably and enjoy the good things in life.
BuyerWillEPBParticipantAbout 6 months ago, I had to travel to Wichita, Kansas for business. Over one weekend, I checked the Sunday newspaper to see how the housing market was there.
They were advertising BRAND NEW 3 Br./2 Bath / 2 car garage houses for… Get this …
“the high $160,000!”
Imagine that! Being able to actually afford to live. This is a concept lost in CA.
I found many major companies like Raytheon, Boeing, etc. located there too. If the market doesn’t “correct” meaning crash here in San Diego, I would DEFINITELY like to go there. It’s a nice area.
BuyerWillEPBParticipantI’m actually one of those “bitter renters” you hear about. I went back to school awhile back with the intention of 1. graduating 2. getting decent job 3. staying in San Diego, I love it here (used to anyway).
By the time I finished my degree at UCSD, and got a fairly good job, I found out I was completely priced out. I did all the “right” things. I got the degree, paid off all the student loans, got a decent job, carry no credit card debt, rent the same “college” apartment, and still drive the same beater car that carried me through the college years. And I still can’t even come close to affording (forget the ARMs) an average house in SD.
Yeah, I’m bitter.
Very soon I will give up and take one of those jobs in Kansas or something.
BuyerWillEPBParticipantOne quote I got a kick out of:
“In December 2004, there were about 12 foreclosures a week in Riverside and San Bernardino counties. In December 2006, there were 123.”
“The carpets are stained, the living room wall has a hole punched in it, and the bedroom doors are missing.”
“A little paint, a little plaster and it will go for $500,000.”
—————————————————The POS didn’t sell (remain sold, I should say) the first time at $500K. Now it is torn up, foreclosed, and the market is trashed. But a little paint and plaster and THIS time it will sell for $500K.
Hahaha! Really! Ok, smart guy, YOU pay $500K for it then. Yeah, I didn’t think so!
BuyerWillEPBParticipantCheck this out:
The guy didn’t see this house in the last 3 months. So what clever strategy does he try? He RAISED the price from $498K to $550K! Yeah, that should help it sell faster. Hahahaha! 🙂
What the hell is he thinking? Check it out on Zillow and Zip Realty.
4744 MOUNT SAINT HELENS CT. Zip code: 92117
BuyerWillEPBParticipantToday, I observed two houses near where I live in Clairemont.
One has been taken off the market completely. The listing has been removed from Zip Realty, and the For Sale sign has been removed from the front lawn. They had an asking price of $499K for about 4 months, I estimate. I don’t think it sold, and it has not shown up in Zillow as recently sold.
The other house just around the corner from the above house has been taken off the Zip Realty listing, but they still have the For Sale sign in the front lawn. I expect this one will be relisted soon. The previous asking (wishing) price was $620K. Perhaps they are taking a rest to reconsider. 🙂
BuyerWillEPBParticipantYesterday’s North County Times article sums up my point nicely.
Here’s the Link to NCTimes ARM loans article
My favorite line,
“These borrowers are allowed to get into homes they can’t afford,” Morrison said. “It’s a crime, in my opinion.”
I agree. It’s a crime against all the responsible people who did not sign these fraudulent documents. The “Loanowners” will cry and say “I didn’t know.”
Horse sh!t, they knew. They just hoped a greater fool would bail them out.
BuyerWillEPBParticipantOh! And the game is being played in Florida where the housing market is getting creamed because of all the speculation.
Wow, so many levels.
GO BEARS!
BuyerWillEPBParticipantIt’s early in the AM, so it took a second to catch the other levels. 🙂
Hahaha – yeah, that is a great observation, with the Superbowl (Bears) and the Spring home selling (slaughter) season starting today.
Good one. GO BEARS! Hahahaha!
BuyerWillEPBParticipantCorrection – only a very few cases, maybe 2%, are actually “sad.” The vast majority of the foreclosures will be people who never had any business being in those homes to begin with. They could never afford to “buy” the places they did. Truth is, they never bought anything. They signed a toxic mortgage which they knew would one day explode. They took the gamble believing the next greater fool would bail them out and pay off their vacations, credit card shopping, and yellow Hummers too.
It’s because of all these greedy people, driving up prices, that my family is now homeless and priced out. We chose to do the responsible thing and not sign a toxic loan that we could never repay.
