ParticipantIt sounds as if you have a reasonable loan. Is it a hardship to make your payments? Do you like your house, your neighbors, and your location? Do you need to relocate, or think you might be compelled to do so for employment or other reasons in the next 5 years? If you are content, why sell now? It is a brutal market, you will incur a lot of costs to sell and purchase another home in 2 years. Sometimes you just have to know when you are well off. Happy Thanksgiving!

ParticipantI remember in the 90’s bust there was a development caled “Discovery Hills” in San Marcos. Built by McMillan I think. They just abandoned it, homes sat half finished, streets left unfinished, some bare slabs with pipes sticking out. There were some finished homes which people had bought, and were living in. They tried to sue the builder, but the builder went BK. I wonder if things like that will happen again?

ParticipantThis bubble was caused by greed, just like the last one. A giant Ponzi scheme. Greed will also cause the next one. It is ALWAYS the same, not totally different in any way. Prices will come back up when the inventory is gone. It’s going to take a while, the invetory is just starting to get foreclosed upon.
