I think you’re actually in #1 but your idea of image is not a BMW but rather a Mspeed 3, STI, Evo camp
Ah, I missed the part about performance being part of #1. In that case I guess I’m around 1.3 – I want to enjoy (or at least not hate) my driving experience, but I am not willing to “waste” money by buying new or by going all-out with all the bells and whistles. My last car was 12 years old when I finally got rid of it, and this one was 2 years old when I bought it (it feels new to me!)8bitnintendoParticipant
I’m surprised there aren’t any single girls here for Josh.
Well, there are probably some lurkers, but a lot of them may be like me and not fit his requirements. From his post it looked like he was looking for something fairly serious (house shopping??) and I don’t exclusively date. Plus, the thread devolved fairly quickly into arguments about whether being a decent person means acting like a doormat, and I got bored. Is OKCupid really that bad? I’ve had fairly good luck on it, and so have several of my male friends. Though I gather response rate is low.

8bitnintendoParticipant
Generally speaking people fall into one of two camps
1) Buy the best car you can afford. Sometimes for image, sometimes for performance but the car is a statement about you in some shape or form
2) Buy the cheapest car you can tolerate. The car is an appliance.
Or my camp,
3) Buy the car with decent reliability and that you enjoy driving (I ended up with a Mazdaspeed3.) Goes fast, corners well, and I can fit plenty in the hatchback. If only premium gas weren’t so expensive…People overly concerned about brand image and impressing people end up with friends as vapid as they deserve.

Both have really good/fresh/tasty food. Both buy their food locally and are part of the slow food movement. Both have decent vegitarian selections – as well as carnivore choices.
I love the Linkery. If you are into beer, they always have 3-4 excellent local brews on cask.8bitnintendoParticipant
The Linkery
