Zillow has recently decided to drop their CURRENT estimates for city and zip codes, in favor of a two month lag. The charts now only show estimates updated to October 1. The home value estimate is still updated to a few days, but that isn’t very useful. The city and zip estimates were probably an aggregate of individual housing, but showed quite reasonable (smoothed) results that were up to date.
I noticed that on ziprealty, they held back price trends for 3-4 months, until prices stabilized (or went up a bit), and now they are current.
