I prefer two story cause when the missus gets cranky the second floor is a good place to escape to. Stairs are becoming a problem but I’d make sure to get “facilities” and a bedroom on the first floor. I blew my knee out a few years ago and three months of no bedroom or shower on the first floor got real old. Two stories are nice if there’s a view and an astronomer in the house. Cathedral ceilings are also a nice complement to the grand piano. Personally, I’m hooked on two story. Gets real quiet and when the furnace gets the house warm there’s no beating it.

January 8, 2008 at 2:24 PM #131858AnonymousGuestThanks for all the replies. I want to chime in with my opinion. I would have to say I prefer two-stories. Although like one poster stated they probably are harder to maintain a certain temp.
It seems easier to seperate from others in a house when you have a two-story. I like nice staircases as well, although it can get tiring climbing them.
