I’m a conservative. I have a post-graduate degree in the Arts (with honors from a big northeastern college.
I don’t believe in the god of the Christians, Jews or Muslims.
I’m pro-choice.
I’m pro-stem cell research.
I want smaller government.
I want fewer, and lower taxes.
I want people to take responsibility for their actions.
I want the government off my back.
I don’t give a crap about prayer in the schools.
There’s no such thing as gay marriage or flying pigs.
Gays can, however, form a civil union. Pigs can take a plane.
I believe if you want more roaches, put food out for them.
If you want more poor, ignorant people in the world, cater to their every whim and need, while punishing those who are smart and hard-working. You’ll get more of one, and less of the other.
If you want more companies making crappier and crappier products (GM, Ford etc…) bail them out. Often.
I believe that there are going to be some very disappointed black voters in a couple of years.
I’m a conservative.
Where’s the politician that supports MY ideals?

BrutusNovember 8, 2008 at 7:51 AM #301401XBoxBoyParticipantInteresting that this thread got so political and off on topics like who is smarter, or better informed. Maybe everyone needs to back up a bit.
I grew up just outside of DC, and when to school with lots of kids whose parents were congressmen or senators. From what I always understood, most of rural America voted republican, because the republic congressman and senators tended to be more successful at delivering farm subsidies. (Not to say that some democrats haven’t done their share to deliver farm subsidies too) Maybe that’s changed, but I’m still pretty sure that most farmers are more concerned about farm subsidies and price supports than social issues or politics.
Course, I could just be plain wrong, but that’s always the way I heard it.
