A good fried of my wife just had to short sell their house in Santee.
They were able to rent a larger, newer and nicer home in Santee for about $1000 less a month.
They were worried about not being able to rent once their credit turned bad. But apparently, they were able rent before the short sale showed up on their credit report.

The party is over, you can stay around and help clean up the mess, or just go home.

August 23, 2007 at 12:21 PM #79997kewpParticipantThis is just a guess, but I think we are seeing the tip of the iceberg here. The over-leveraged speculators are going to go first, especially since they have no emotional interest in their properties.
Additionally, people living in a foreclosed property can string out the eviction proceedings for months; especially if they file bankruptcy and sue for predatory lending.

XboxBoy – Are you seeing any evidence of true homelessness? Not just people moving to lower cost area or having their investment/flipper home foreclosed. Not seeing more homelessness as in people on the street pushing shopping carts, but people who have been foreclosed on moving out of town or into smaller rentals.
