Treadmill? What’s that? Bugger the idea of running like a hamster on a wheel. Road bikes are where it’s AT!
Just to set the record straight I’m not obese, just over weight according to the BMI chart. Also I’m not really worried about getting cancer (too many other things to worry about). The article does make a lot of sense as the rise in cancer does seem to correspond to the rise in obesity, at least here in the US. Not sure about other countries. I have a mountain bike which is fun to ride, probably a little more dangerous than the treadmill, I did almost fall off once and had not even been drinking.
I’ve fallen off more than once, most recently when a piece of metal sliced my front tire open on a rural road — wear a helmet and keep at it.

haha… just kidding here, but if you look at dating apps “average” means borderline obese.
The BMI is very generous. My qualification for normal is a flat stomach. A bulging stomach is overweight no matter how much muscle one has. I see a lot of people at the gym working out to put on muscle when the first priority should be to lose weight.
The easiest way to lose weight is to think of American comfort food as poison. You have to change what you think as desirable/delicious. In real estate, it would be like “this neighborhood is not good enough with me. I would never live there. Maybe not even drive through.”
