That was funny….
But the iPhone is still the best. Verizon is even more money and they don’t even have the iPhone!!
PS: AT&T gives discounts to just about every company/university/group. Just ask.
I’ve had an iphone 3G for almost 2 years. I’ve been very happy with it. However, the 4.0 OS upgrade completely destroyed my phone. It’s slow as crap now doing ANYTHING and there is no easy way to downgrade to the old OS. Thanks for sucking Apple and actually testing this out.
I won’t be buying an iphone4 or 5 or X. I’ll be buying an android in the future and I’ll probably be changing carriers to do so since AT&T has a horrible selection of android phones (probably so they don’t compete with the iphone).
Samsung Galaxy S… Awesome screen.

However, I also have no illusions that new software should continue to work on old hardware. The 3GS is over two years old. Do you also expect Snow Leopard to run on your G3 Powerbook? Do you expect Android Froyo to run on your HTC Dream?
You have to have realistic expectations of technology. The mobile space moves 10 times faster than standard platforms, and your expectations of performance on old devices should be adjusted accordingly.
Not to mention, 3.0 sucked on the 3G as well… Give them a few point releases to iron out the kinks… Not that I think 4.0 will run as smoothly as 3.0 on the 3G.

July 20, 2010 at 8:20 PM #580570briansd1GuestThe 3G is too slow to run iOS4. It’s like running Windows 7 on an old PC.
Get a new iPhone 4.
On the 3G, Apple does not sign the software and you can downgrade (not so on 3GS and 4).
Download the appropriate software here:
http://iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=750Connect your iPhone to iTunes. Hold the Shift Key and at the same time click on Restore.
Then select the older software you downloaded.
