Depends on locality. The work-around in some areas is for the tiny house to have wheels, and thus not be a permanent structure 🙂
There’s a lot of interest in tiny houses these days.
There are tiny houses festivals you can go to and talk to builders and owners and ask them what they’re doing.
I’d plop a tiny house on a empty lot and list it. Then call the media. Lot’s of free publicity and end up selling the lot higher without the house.
I don’t get why anyone would “build” a tiny house instead of just buying a travel trailer. That’s essentially what they are.
The trailer costs less and you can take it with you.
It’s the cool factor. These things are either great design or eclectic funky.

Mobile home, travel trailers, tiny houses on wheels… same things.
It’s the cool factor and the design that differentiate them.
It’s cheaper to build if you do it yourself. I plan to build a modern tiny house and set it a a piece of land I buy during the next recession. I would rather have it permanent and not on wheels but that would depend on local codes. It will be very cool.
