Metaphorically speaking, HIE-YUN-DIE does NOT rhyme with Sunday.
You can add “Metaphorically speaking” to anything you want but,
Hyundai does rhyme with Sunday.

Eehhhhhh…. (annoying buzzer sound)
Allan, Allan, Allan….
Why all the anger and negativity again ? 🙂
Is it the “light-head-ness” that comes with being a MasterBator…errr…I mean MasterDebater ?
You lost the debate to Rt66 long ago; thrashed, bashed and trashed (as you admitted – documented) and here you are with the same ole same ole. You give a whole new meaning to the word “windbag”.
Put down the martini and do something constructive.

Respectfully ask Jeff Bridges to scrap the Hyundai voice-overs.
While yer at it, ask him to at least think about supporting what is left of our American Auto Industry and good, hard-working blue-collar folks.
You may just feel better if you do.
Go ahead. Give it a try. Admit it.
You ARE thinking about it, aren’t you ? 🙂
HIE-YUN-DIE Hyundai does NOT rhyme with Sunday in blue-collar America.

July 17, 2009 at 3:27 PM #432781Allan from FallbrookParticipant
BS ALLEN, I’ve been thru all this already.
Anyone can read this thread and see I’ve trumped your arguments; if not in direct response to you then to some other hater.
“30 and out” responsible for all our auto manufacturing woes, another zinger there Mr. MasterDebater. Are you sure it wasn’t aliens?
Why do you talk out of both sides of your mouth Allen? It seems you can’t give up on your efforts to convince others that US cars are shitty and we deserve to lose our jobs and national wealth to Japan and Korea and then out the other side you claim all this patriotic blah-blah-blah. Can you see the oddity?
Scarlet: Find me ONE SINGLE post of mine wherein I said that we deserve to lose jobs. ONE. Find it and quote it.
To the contrary, I said I decried US government policies on manufacturing and that we had bled jobs and that, yes, other countries, including Japan and Korea employed protectionist measures.
However, and this where you repeatedly trip yourself up: You CONFLATE (taking two unconnected issues and connecting them as fact) my stance on organized labor (i.e. it has contributed strongly to the problems that Detroit has encountered) with my stance on globalization and anti-protectionism.
The two have nothing to do with one another. I have argued strenuously for more American manufacturing on this and other threads and I support American manufacturing on a daily basis, BECAUSE MY COMPANY USES FINELY ENGINEERED AMERICAN MANUFACTURED PRODUCTS EVERY FUCKING DAY!
Organized labor’s “30 and Out” is hugely important to this discussion, but you categorically refuse to discuss it, instead saying space aliens have more to do with this problem. Why won’t you even bring up organized labor’s role in this? You blame American consumers for buying foreign cars, you blame the government, you blame GM management, yet you absolutely will SAY NOTHING about organized labor. Why?
You have not trumped my arguments at all. YOU’VE AVOIDED THEM ENTIRELY.
How about this? You pick a handful of questions or topics and lay them out for open debate (like I did earlier, but you refused to touch them and for obvious reasons, they would have undermined ALL of your supposed arguments).
You pick. You decide what you want to debate on and I’ll go head to head with you in an objective format. You game? And this ain’t a do-over, Sunshine, because you didn’t win the last time. In spite of what your little buddy Paddy seems to think.
