Gosh – I did not mean to thread hi-jack. See how there is just no way to discuss politics at all w/out it spiraling into who’s for who. Perfect little example. And sometimes b/c of the nature of boards, you can’t tell if someone is kidding, though by now I hope we know some people’s general mode. Just a touchy topic.

I personally come here to get contrarian viewpoints to my own. I tire of “political” blogs because they are nothing but echo chambers. This is the only place I’ve found where various topics can be discussed and I can get new or opposing viewpoints that actually make sense. Sure, it can devolve into shit throwing from time to time, but you’ve got to take the bad with the good. It’s like having to work your way through the crust to get to the delicious combination of peanut butter and jelly in the middle. Yah the crust sucks, but there’s a big reward waiting for you inside if you can get past it. The sandwich is so much more enjoyable knowing that you worked through the crust. I never requested the crust be cut, because otherwise it’s just too easy.
