Smart comments TG.
Getting data out of a database is about 100 times easier than getting the correct data into them.

March 26, 2008 at 8:59 PM #176768hipmattParticipantTo keep it simple, I’m not using zip codes, just the cities. I’m doing a simple search, which is why I stated that it is unofficial and not perfect. I’m not gonna go and check every zip, by following the cities and the price ranges, it should give enough data to kick around on these boards.
I got the info last night by logging onto http://www.imrmls.com, which is what is used in this area. I then select STATUS: either active or pending, very simple. Then I select TYPE: Single Family Residence. Then under CITY: either Temecula, Murrieta, or Winchester. Anyone who wants it broken down into zips can do so on their own time, sorry. The last, and final thing I choose is the PRICE: either 200000-(under 200k), 200001-300000, 300001-400000, or 400001-800000.
mgubnyc1 .. can you grasp the concept? Where are you getting your 3500+ number from, care to share? I just described the entire process, which is fairly simple, and should give a nice “BALLPARK” estimate of whats going on. I would love to hear how you come up with your data.
Hopefully you aren’t using redfin, which lists the same home up to 4 or 5 times.. like these…
