ParticipantIf you’re making six figures, you can afford 75% of San Diego and probably 98% of IE, without second income.
What do mean afford? Low 6 figures means low 300’s for purchase price; following the 3X rule. That will certainly get you something (even detached) in Esco, Vista, Oceanside, Ramona and El Cajon/Lakeside/Hell. It still isn’t going to buy anything decent west of the 5 (excluding Oceanside), RB Hillcrest or even dare I say downtown. Sure I could buy a 1 bedroom condo, but if I make 6 figures thats not something decent.

Gosh Josh you are right, everyone who makes six figures should be able to afford a detached home west of the 5, no one with that income should need to commute more than say 15 miles or live somePlace like temecula,
Note: I know truck drivers makeing more than six figures these days.

ParticipantCongratulations.
Just curious – did you know the neighborhood or property well in advance of the listing?
Having an offer in less then 30 minutes after listing seems rather fast, especially if you ended up bidding up the price unless you had already checked out the property/etc.
