Guest
and even some of my own family in Canada came to the USA for medical procedures due to the length of time they had to wait for their own system to get them the procedure.
Seems to me like the Canadian health care is working.
Free health care doesn’t mean the best health care. But at least every Canadian has access to some minimum health care.
People who can afford to wait should wait. And people who can afford to pay for services should pay for them if they want the upgraded care.

ParticipantOh yeah, here’s another anecdote. A friend of mine here had fibroids and needed a hysterectomy. She had supposedly good health insurance. Anyway, she was bleeding a lot and felt really bad but she had to wait 6 months for the operation. The operation went well and now she is okay, but she was quite miserable for those 6 months. Yep in the good old USA.

As a percentage of income / wealth gains, did you pay more or less tax than last year?
Most Tea Partiers don’t know.
It’s the Joe-the-Plumber and Sarah Palin mentality, remember? The two of them are in bed together.
Do you support looking at VAT?I don’t know if VAT is the answer. I’m pleased their looking at it.
Considering a VAT doesn’t mean that it’ll happen. But I agree, it should be part of budgetary options.
