Thanks SD R.
I just hear all the time about a “bottom” and when it doesnt come those ‘in the know’ start saying things like, “well, I didnt mean in price, I ment in sales, or in # of starts or Months of inventory or ….. (insert whatever was the least horrible stat this month)” .I just wanted to understand “feel the heat” in the correct context so I dont get my hopes up. π

I think the biggest one right now is the elections coming up and how that will affect the economy. I don’t think either party can do much more to ‘delay’ inevitable at this point, but do think that wall street will react more once the elections are over…this will trickle down to our little local.
So SD R, with that said and you thinking it’s not til late ’09 for the ‘nicer’ areas to see any signaficant drops, how is your family reacting to that thought?? Just curious as we have now been a bit in limbo, and my patience is narrowing on waiting this out….seriously have considered moving outta the area like some of the smarter piggs on here. Wait it out in a ‘non’ bubble area in a nice comfortable setting….

June 24, 2008 at 9:12 PM #228051SD RealtorParticipantDW I hear ya… feel the heat is definitely not implying a bottom… I wish it was man…
Cash my family is none to happy but resigned to live with my stubborness and bad habits. Like I said to pw I did submit an offer on a place in Scripps just the other day. It is a fixer in a big way but located where I want. Doesn’t look like it will happen though as I have been outbid. Anyways I will not be able to hold out until the timeframe I really want to wait until but that is okay. It will work for me.
I cannot move out of the area. The parents are here for good and are pretty much to old to move and other relatives are in town. For me it is about being close to family so we will stick it out and rent until we find something that works for us.
As far as my late 09 for some nicer drops that is my guess… I think we need a bump in the nicer areas and that bump will either be higher interest rates or higher foreclosures in nicer areas or a combo of both so I am pinning my hopes in some of these ALT As and other mortgages to these types of homes to add distress but it will not be until that time, late 09 to begin.
