Well pencil me in for the next meet up, lets see, I can watch Rustico kick Josh’s ass, I know what type of ammo to bring Alan and I know that I love chef boyardee, salt and toilet paper, in that order. Looking at the menu I’m thinking an 85 Mouton would be the perfect pairing for beefaroni and shotguns, let me check the cellar.

August 11, 2007 at 11:02 PM #73562Allan from FallbrookParticipanttemeculaguy: I like the Coppola Claret (2004 vintage, please) with my Beefaroni.
Oh, and bring 12 gauge in either 3″ Magnum slug or 00 buckshot.
Around 7:00ish work for you?

If you think you are truly anonymous, think again. There are so many ways that others could find out who you are that it would make your head spin. If someone really wants to get the dirt on you, they will. My philosophy is to believe in what you say (or write) and be willing to stick to your guns.

August 12, 2007 at 12:46 AM #73585temeculaguyParticipantWell I am perfectly fine sticking to my guns that the Mouton will beat the Coppola (actually the 85 is a ruse and can be had for $200, the 86 will set you back a grand), but if Alan has a regional pallate, I’ll oblige. Alan, if the world ever does go to hell in a handbasket, e-mail me and I’ll prepare a list, Dinty Moore beef stew/73 stags leap, spam/95 margaux, still working on the beef jerky and twinkie pairings, I’m partial to the 20 year tawneys but if the remmie discount applies there are some sautuernes I think will just set off the flavor of the cream filling.

August 12, 2007 at 8:02 AM #73612barnaby33ParticipantTemeculaguy, if you buy first growths, Costco on Morena has them. They have: 04 Lafite, Mouton, Cheval Blanc and Haut Brion. I got one of the Lafite just because the 05 is going to be 750/bottle. The 04s are a steal comparatively and from a good if not outstanding year.
Mostly I stick to Italian for the good stuff as you get much better deals on Barolo and even Brunello than Bordeaux.
Not sure which goes better with Chef Boyardee.
