Yup. With Cowher’s talent, scheme and program. Complete non-answer regarding Tomlin’s many and manifest failings as a head coach.
Pittsburgh lost to Cleveland. Stop and think about EVERYTHING that means, from the coaching breakdowns to the lack of preparation (and Pittsburgh is NOT a prepared team, week in and week out they play flat), to the play calling on both sides of the ball.
This team is steadily disintegrating and you need look no further than the head coach for the explanation. And, please don’t come back with nonsense like injuries have handicapped the team; this is the NFL and injuries are a constant and consistent fact of life and the good coaches adjust accordingly.
Football is a game of preparation, attitude and adjustment. Ask anyone who’s played and/or coached. I’ve done both and this coach is a joke.

ParticipantFirst off, it was never Cowher’s talent. It’s Colbert’s talent.
Tomlin completely changed the program. In 2008 they didn’t have a 1000 yard rusher. They began to transition to a passing team. No fullback.
Tomlin was smart to keep Lebeau and let him do his thing, even though Tomlin prefers a 4-3. How many coaches are smart enough to check their ego like that?
There is clearly something terribly wrong this year and Tomlin deserves a large chunk of the blame. Arians will take the fall. The Rooney’s will not fire a coach for one (or more) bad seasons. Go look at Cowher from 98-00, and again in 2003.
