SDR: I’m not taking anything away from his physicality on the field. He IS a specimen. He’s not that great a receiver, though. He does drop more than his fair share of passes. His claim to fame is once he has the ball and is loose. Most DBs are physically outmatched by him (hell, so are some linebackers) and he is damn hard to bring down.
It’s also all the attendant baggage you have to put up with. The drama, and the crybaby routine and the incessant “look at me!” sideshow that is T.O. I really think he’s mentally ill and, no, I’m not saying to be cruel or sarcastic. I think he’s suffering from a mental disorder (remember the overdose?) and much of this is a cry for help.
So, yeah, SDR: He’s a perfect fit for the Raiders. It would be kind of fun watching Jamarcus airing it out like the Raiders did in the past under Lamonica and Stabler, though.

March 7, 2009 at 1:32 PM #361907patbParticipant

The second rumor which I believe to be much more concrete is the introduction of legislation by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid to force employers to hired unskilled workers. That is, for a given number of workers a company hires that are skilled, they must hire a certain number that have basically no skills.
A quick search on thomas.loc.gov does not yield any legislation of this kind sponsored by either Pelosi or Reid. I’m not sure if it’s even possible for both of them to have their names on a bill, since Pelosi is a representative and Reid is a senator.
actually bills can be cross body sponsored, things like Glass-steagal
which was sponsored by senator glas and rep steagal, the bill which
kept the banks stable for 70 years.March 7, 2009 at 1:32 PM #362205patbParticipant

The second rumor which I believe to be much more concrete is the introduction of legislation by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid to force employers to hired unskilled workers. Hard to know if those specific rumors are true or not, but the trend toward socialism is indisputable so dumb yourself down and you will have better employement prospects. Since we know each other I have to tell you that I think you are too intelligent to get one of these government/private sector not jobs.
This country is going to change big time, time will tell if it will be for the better or the worse. Unlike many who are so sure they know exactly what will happen, I do not. It worries me but we just have to wait and see. It is very funny however, to watch this circus play out, one mishap after another. That Kid Biden is a laugh a minute, kind of reminds me of Leslie Nielson’s character in Airplane. Plus that plastic surgery makes him look Chinese. Much better than Cheney who we never heard a peep from.
I love the rumor that the tax cheater is announcing he is cracking down on the tax cheats, is he is going to start off by fining himself? How will he run the treasury from prison? Will he get his own private tent like Barkley is getting? If he just fined all the cabinet members he might be able to make a dent in some of the social program funding that is required.
