ParticipantBubbles are not some new socio-psychological phenomena. They have been going on for centuries and are very well understood. The reasons are in evolutionary psychology and culture. So it should be no surprise that so many people made stupid gambles. What is stupid is that we keep creating the conditions that allow them to happen given our understanding of the phenomena.
