ParticipantWhy do some people think they are attractive and others think they are ugly ?
If you say they are ugly, (even though it’s true) they would feel insulted because they have judged themselves to be attractive.
Why do some people think they are fat and others see them as thin ?
If you tell them they are too thin, they might feel insulted, because they really think they are fat.
Why do some people think they are clever and others think they are idiots ?
If you call them an idiot, even though it’s true, they would feel insulted.
People have varying judgments of what should be objective reality on many different levels, besides home pricing. It’s simply human nature.

ParticipantIt's the basest of survival instincts. If you didn't think that "your crap smells good", you would have no incentive to reproduce and pass on your "qualities" to your progeny.

That would (almost) never happen in today's world. At least not in America. You can never be too thin or too rich!

ParticipantAny offers I’ve made have been lowball and I don’t really care if I offend them. Of course, no purchase yet for me and I haven’t bothered to make any offers in a while. Maybe my lowball helped the next guy buy who offered less but more than mine. Personally, I am very offended by many prices people have set on their properties. The ridiculous prices deserve lowballs just to slap them in the face w/a reality check. I think eveyone should do it.

ParticipantI agree with jpinpb and IMO it is in no way insulting or grotesque to lowball. In fact, I think it’s a buyers job to lowball, just as it is a seller’s job to highball.
