i think she meant she just wanted people to ignore so I would stop pondering and merely take action. or something like that. she’s not mean–just very direct!
I see. That makes sense. It’s new territory for you but nothing bad is going to happen. Knock it off.March 7, 2010 at 6:54 PM #522446NotCrankyParticipant
i think she meant she just wanted people to ignore so I would stop pondering and merely take action. or something like that. she’s not mean–just very direct!
And me breaking out a pen and paper and trying to explain numbers. In her defense, we’re not getting any younger and our kids are starting to look old. in my defense, we struggled to save this money and it would suck not to get it back. in her defense, it’s only money and we could have fun in that house. in my defense, we’re having fun right here right now in this rental. in her defense….etc etc etc.
she’s a good wife.

March 8, 2010 at 7:10 AM #522495NotCrankyParticipantIs the casita rentable? I don’t remember if that topic is part of the thread so far. In any case, you might want to know if it is technically a granny flat or something else. For instance, my second small house,on the property I live on, is a “second dwelling unit”. It is legally rentable. There is a document recorded with the county verifying this. I think rules against renting out granny flats were made to be broken but breaking rules reflects worse on some than others. Anyway, perhaps it is something to consider? I know you don’t need any rent to help pay the mortgage and wouldn’t probably want a tenant, but the uses allowed for the casita could reflect on its value.
