November 18, 2010 at 1:08 PM #631850scaredyclassicParticipantnow when i say i think everything’s going to be ok, don’t take that to mean that i think this is some reasonably sound financial decision, or that i am somehow validating the financial system, calling a bottom, or in anyway stating any belief, express or implied, that this isn’t all a giant ponzi scheme on the verge of collaps. All I mean is that we can probably afford the payment, even if they got rid of the mortgage interest deduction, and we could probably have fun in this particular place. And that the money for the down payment couldn’t be spent on anything else that could make my wife happier, i.e., new bmw, vacations, jewlery, etc.
