The American Soviet system is starting to reveal itself. Public employees earn the highest salaries and enjoy the best benefits, while private employees are told to “tough it out” in the “free market” as their jobs are sent overseas.
Yes If I were to advise a younger 20 or even early 30’s , I would tell them to get a gov Job, they can go to college but afterwards unless they were to go into biz for themselves, working for the Gov is the way to go.
But also like I said before, it’s not that they don’t deserve it,
It’s just WE CAN’T AFFORD IT !

September 1, 2009 at 8:10 AM #451996jimmyleParticipantMy wife works for the gov’t. Jobs that are assigned to be completed in 4 months could easily be done in one month. Her coworkers would scold her for ‘working’ because that would take away the overtime. She works about 2 hours a day because if you try to work any more than that you will turn your coworkers against you and they can be very nasty. I will benefit too because she has 401K in addition to a very generous pension. However, I don’t know if it lasts long enough or the gov’t will go bankrupt before she could retires.
