Creechrr I agree with the fun! I was already sick of the Govt intervention by May. Some of the realtors on this site gave the advice to take the summer off and enjoy it instead of participating in the 50 offer bidding wars. I am so glad I took their advice!
We took 3 trips this summer that were each 10 days. My husband has negative vacation days and it was so worth it. We got to drop the kids off and head to Costa Rica, Brazil, and then to visit family.
UCGal the banks are a joke. Now that we are hunting, I just have to laugh. So this is what I came back to. My list of homes we are interested in has several categories. I’ll give you a rough idea of the numbers.

And the last category is my favorite…We love this home but have no idea who owns it. It has been vacant for a LONG time. The tax site has no clue. But I want it. :)
That long-time vacant house wouldn’t happen to be in Carlsbad…single story? If so, I can tell you who owns it, but don’t know why it’s still sitting there vacant (many, many years!).

September 23, 2009 at 7:43 AM #461087FletchParticipantI’d have to second the comment by TechyWorker. I grew up in NoVa and head back often. It was great in the ’80s, but I can no longer handle the traffic. And I’m talking about secondary streets. If I am going to pay that much for a house, I don’t want traffic on my way to the Grocery store, or more importantly, the ABC store. On the plus side, Virginia has, in my opinion, the best public University system in the country.
Also, my wife works for SAIC and the headquarter move is for her, like many who don’t work at Campus Point, a non-issue.

I would love to do that. Do I just walk in and ask for the info and they give it to me? I have no clue about this stuff.
CaRenter. It isn’t that one in Carlsbad. It is an ocean view home in SEH. It was a short sale for over 390 days and had a lock box. About 200 days into it they moved out. Then 6 months ago Realty Trac said it went to auction. Lock Box was taken off. 3 months later the property tax website said it was processing 2008 and 2009 taxes. The taxes have been processed and it still just sits?
Thanks for responding to the hijacking.
