anxvariety, that’s good common sense, and will come in handy if there’s an earthquake or virus outbreak too. I really need to get back to Costco to finish my 3-week food and water supply. Gas is a great idea to add. I keep the food/water in my kids’ closets. My Mormon friends told me to put cans under the bed, in closets, a little bit all over the house.
“handy if there’s an earthquake or virus outbreak too.”
Yeah I’m going to do the same. You never know what can happen. I got to stock up on my ammo so I can raid you guys when I run low π Just kidding!
being an engineer i was out of work for 1 years during last recession. i did not have any mortgage payments. i was able to ride it out.
I have a good friend in the porn industry, he was recently laid off (no pun intended). I asked him how the industry in general was going, he thought it was getting soft (no pun intended). I was asking because I was curious if porn was considered an essential, or a luxury; perhaps it would be a leading indicator of a recession.
Was he laid off because of the soft problem? I think that industry marches with a different drummer – perhaps the internet is more of a competitor now. Can you get more info about the industry?
The internet is not a competitor to the industry. It’s a distribution channel.
NCJim – I was picturing the guy as an actor, on those VHS tapes, or a model in a magazine. I shouldn’t assume anything. Maybe he is on the internet too.
Here is a write-up of Roubini’s reasons for a 2007 recession. He makes a lot of sense!
He is not an actor, or anything on the production side. I should have mentioned that. He was working in distribution. Any change to the porn industry from the internet would have (and did) happen years ago. What is happening now is due to….what? I don’t know, but it could be economic factors. I have to believe, for most people, that porn is a lower priority than making their house, car, food payments.
