She’s on SSI and wants to buy? What the…?? From my understanding of Supplemental Security Insurance, it is a federally-funded program with payments to the disabled. The payments are not large.
She also states that she “doesn’t know neighborhoods, even though we have lived here for 16 years.” Why is she willing to spend up to $600K but not willing to do any research to make this an educated purchase?
My hunch is that she will be looking for a 50-year mortgage or a mortgage where the owner takes back part of the loan.
Either she’s not sane, or it’s a hoax.
Sounds like a scam. If she is disabled, and short of money, why buy a house? If you are poor and money’s tight usually, though not always you are more frugal.

Yeah, I’d agree. She knows enough about the market to try to convince someone to hold the property until the market recovers, but doesn’t know she could easily find a place that more than meets her requirements if she actually had the financials to cover a $600,000 property?
I’m sure there’s quite a bit more baked into her request that the seller carry…
