Since I’m married, I’d lose about $5,000 worth of my federal standard deduction.
Most people in the 9.3% State and 28% federal bracket are deducting enough in state income taxes to equate to standard deduction.

When I did may taxes itemized versus standard, the itemized fell about $5,000 short of the standard deduction. This will also become more and more important as houses become affordable for people who aren’t making 120K+
