I think these will actually be a substantial portion of the inventory you will see this spring regardless of zip code.
Yeah,in Santee, one was up for a about a year that reduced their asking price from 495k to 475k (tried to get 495k after the one directly across the street from me did in ’05)took in off the market. Did some repairs, the place still looks like sh**)now they have put it back on at 480k. It won’t sell, it’s real crap! It is way high.
A friend of mine is selling because they are getting a divorce(same area). Their house is a dream and bigger and they are asking 11k less. They just want to get out so they are ready to deal.
I have seen many relisings in UTC, RB, Mira Mesa area. The only difference is that the price has been hiked up by 15K-25K with the expectation of a “spring market boost”. One condo in Saber Springs came back up 25K higher. When I asked the seller about the price hike, his answer was that “market dynamics have changed now and he has put money i maintenance”.
