i submit that 6 years is fundamentally different than 30 years. 30 isnt just 5 groups of 6.
i am pretty similar to the person I was when i was in 2005, but I bear no resemblance to the fellow from the 80’s. fundamental changes happen over 30 years. 6 can fly by but 30 is difficult to pass without notice.30 is similar to a lifetime. 6 is just a temporary stretch.
things are basically the same over 6 years. but things are totally different after 30.
as to 15, it’smore like 6 than 30.

Is it true that she is just trying to get approval right now and the numbers don’t matter that much?

Depends on where you are in life.
I have many elderly relatives because my dad was the youngest and married and had kids late.
I was talking to a 90yo relative. She was joking that in 5 years she’ll be dead. At least she has a good sense of humor.
It also depends on your age, stage in life and outlook.
I still feel young and don’t mind hanging out with the college age crowd (well, maybe grad students). But my peers are nearly all married with kids, fat and living the burbs. They’ve let themselves go and don’t care much anymore.
I think that most people go through predictable stages. But who says it has to be that way?
But I do agree with walter that, psychologically, 30 years is disproportionately greater than 6 years.
