In every industry there are late adopters. Yes, there are inspectors who were slow to embrace the use of computer generated reports, the use of cameras, moisture meters, etc. They always use the excuse that it increases liability.
As each technology enters the main stream and becomes standard, it becomes a greater liability to NOT have these tools.
We rely on our digital photos to reduce liability because we can show the condition of the house on the day of inspection. We also feel that the proper use of IR cameras, moisture meters, etc. reduces liability for inspectors, agents and sellers because we simply find more defects.
As a buyer, who would you wnat to use? The guy who is using a hand written report? Or a company that embraces and invests in the best technology available?
