I’ve been watching the value of a home I sold to relocate to SoCal. The house was sold as part of a corporate relo. My agent presented an offer to my firm – I told him I wanted to push back and counter 5k higher… he said he’d talk to the buyer and when he got back to me he said no they wouldn’t move on price so I sold. I lost 5k and my company lost 50k (equity protection they paid to me).
Earlier this week I see the property is for sale by owner and the owner is my real estate agent’s wife (also a real estate agent).
The agent didn’t disclose his wife was the buyer. He said that it was a local investor that set up a LLC to make the purchase.
I can drop the issue or contact my old firm and inform them of the conflict or ?
Wow… As sdr said all states have their own real estate laws. Also you may want to contact your relo company as well as your employer to let them know what happened. They may have some additional resources that they can use to investigate this further. Have you contacted the broker as well as your agent and said WTF is going on here?
