No, I didn’t JUST watch the videos. It was stated in the company’s quarterly earnings report that everyone has access to. QC had horrible earnings and even more dismal future projections!
I don’t believe these people just need camera time. Especially Dan Fitzpatrick. He is known industry wide as one of the best stock chartists around.
I am still concerned…

February 25, 2010 at 7:02 AM #518172CoronitaParticipant
I thought the company was doing well. Seem like every other smartphone coming out has a Qualcomm processor.
Qualcomm can’t help that speculators were bidding up it’s stock.
Well is relative. healthwise, probably fine. But don’t be surprised if their margins are getting squeezed. QC traditionally has been a high-end chip supplier. I would not be surprised if their seeing erosion in their margins because of the increasingly large competitor set and the squeeze phone manu. are putting to drive down costs.
There’s no question their processors are high end. But the question is whether these phone manufacturers are pinning QC against others that offer inferior products at reduced costs, and whether QC actually has to be more competitive on pricing now that it use to be.
You can only guess a this, by hints of what they are trying to do. Branching out into netbooks and playing in chip areas where traditionally margins are lower…Interesting times i can say. If you start seein a proliferation of their higher end chips in traditionally lower-tier phone manufacturer, something has happened.

February 25, 2010 at 9:41 AM #518243HLSParticipantThe stock market has the potential to make poor fools out of the average American worker.
QCOM is still not a cheap stock. $60 billion market cap with $10 billion in sales. Depending on profits and the general market, this could be a $15-$20 stock.401K’s are biased towards bull markets. Millions may end up with very little to retire on as a result of what could turn out to be the largest scam ever dealt to the general public, a larger scam than the housing bubble.
Stocks are basically a Ponzi scheme. You CAN make a lot of money if/when you are right. The average worker who has money taken out of every paycheck and thinks that it a secure path to retirement better have their fingers and toes crossed and hope that their prayers come true.
Money in the stock market isn’t investing, it’s speculating/gambling.
