Yelling or rioting won’t change anything, the power brokers aren’t going to decide “you know, they seemed pissed, let’s push the good economy button before someone gets hurt.”
ROFLMAO – The good economy button. LOL. Is that like the Staples “Easy” button. You mean they’ve been hiding that all this time! π

February 28, 2009 at 3:25 PM #357355partypupParticipant
What would we riot over? Those in power just got started and are the choice of the protest types anyway. I just don’t see the berkely types or minorities staging a protest to oust Obama, we kinda have a free pass right now
I’ve been saying this for the past 2 years: this is PRECISELY why Obama was pushed so fervently by the Democrats and the mainstream media. If blacks — who are notoriously distrustful of government and political hacks — cannot be counted upon to take to the streets, and if young people — who are traditionally quick to protest — are enthralled by the Obama Savior Phenomenon, then the Powers that Be figure that we will all be sitting ducks.
They have effectively attempted to co-opt potential dissenters with Obama’s coronation.
I saw the cover of Newsweek while I was in line at the store today. the headline: “How Obama can talk us out of a depression”. it could have just as easily read: “How Obama is going to try to talk us out of rioting and burning down the motherf****** house”.
LOL

I’m so very frightened…Puh-leeze. A bunch of lawyers getting laid off is GOOD NEWS. Let them go find something useful to do. We need to make things in this country, not sue each other and throw paper around. This is the start of something great. There are gonna be less $300 pairs of jeans and BMWs and CV McMansions but we’re going to come out of this stronger on the other side. Let them go learn to run CNC machines or become welders or pipefitters or how to grow vegetables and raise goats or how to repair cars. Let’s build this country back up and quit whining because we can’t afford to play golf as much. Dammit people are spoiled here.
Borat: if you think that 190 unemployed attorneys AND 250 unemployed support staff (do you loathe paralegals and secretaries, too?) hitting the streets isn’t going to exacerbate this spiral into disaster, then you’re missing the big picture.
Eventually, this will hit you and everyone else. Maybe when an unemployed lawyer car jacks your ass you’ll get the picture.
