What would we riot over? Those in power just got started and are the choice of the protest types anyway. I just don’t see the berkely types or minorities staging a protest to oust Obama, we kinda have a free pass right now. White middle aged republicans traditionally are not likely to fill the streets in protest, it’s unlikely the newly unemployed lawyers and bankers will start tipping over cars.

We don’t have to go out to the streets to protest against the president. It could however be against the masters of the universe, like Thain…berkeley types:
Easy on the stereotyping. No matter what Berkeley was like in the 60s and 70s, now it’s full of tamed (many Asian) kids trying to get ahead in making the American dream. There are many liberals on campus but not much more than other college campuses. And the many extreme ones are actually from surrounding city, not UC Berkeley university itself…imho

I tend to shop at the most expensive grocery stores I can find so that I don’t have to deal with the riff-raff. And shopping at a crowded grocery store is in no way equivalent to fighting over the last scrap of food because the “trucks are no longer running”.
Breeze, you missed the point as usual. We can avoid the riff raff now, but as essential living commodities become more in demand, less available, and more expensive, the problems of chaos, violence are going to become worse. You are not going to be able to avoid this, even at Whole Foods. Please review Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.

Talking about abilities, I just saw an article Robert Bernard Reich.
Didn’t read the whole thing but he ended it by asking who’s going to bail out the human capital while wall street got bailed out.
i guess he meant public education.
