My garage is half full of telescopes. I’m a backyard observer and “scopist” all at the same time.
I’ve been observing since I was 10 years old, but in the last few years when I thought I would lose my job I knew I’d need something to keep me busy.
I also enjoy planetary imaging.

Seriously, though…there are so many things to get involved with. There are many exceptional charitable organizations, lots of people (and animals) in need, etc. Why not volunteer with an animal rescue organization, or a place like Father Joe’s? If that’s not his thing, perhaps he can become a consumer and/or taxpayer advocate.
If he’s just looking for a regular hobby, why not mountain biking or hiking? Fishing? Local farms or co-ops? Garden? Reading exotic literature? Then there’s TG’s favorite…porn! π
