Good deals to be had for sure, but Vegas hasn’t hit bottom until my $5.99 steak & lobster dinners return.
If they were smart they’d become the Amsterdam of the USA — legal shrooms, weed, and sluts for all!

September 14, 2009 at 1:57 AM #456826briansd1GuestI got a letter from Wynn offering a two-night stay for $99 — something like Sunday comped and Monday at $99.
This year is the best time ever to travel. Air to Australia and Asia are down by about 40%. I suspect his fall’s fares to Europe will be down drastically.
I never go where the herd goes, so, over the years, taking advantage of political and economic crises, I had some great deals to Argentina, Bali, Fiji, etc…
Take advantage of the crises to see America and the world.
I noticed something new in USA in the last couple years. You can now buy one-way and open-jaw domestic air tickets for the same price, or lower than round-trip tickets. It didn’t used to be that way.
Most vacationers combine an air trip with a car rental anyway, so that’s a good opportunity to visit 2 or 3 cities where before you could only visit one place. For example earlier this year, I flew to Fort Myers and got a Toyota Prius rental to Tampa for $10/day. I flew out of Tampa. What a deal!

Room rates on the Strip are so steeply discounted that the top resorts will put you up today for the same price that downscale hotels charged two years ago.
At the Encore, which Vegas impresario Steve Wynn opened in December as an extension of his luxe Wynn resort, some customers were offered two-night stays this summer for $99. For some nights this fall, promotional rates as low as $90 are being offered at Bellagio, a premier Strip hotel where rooms customarily can reach $500 or more.

September 14, 2009 at 8:47 AM #457143kev374ParticipantI checked Venetian for 2 weeks from now and it’s almost $300/night, I don’t consider that half off! Thats the regular rate. I could not find any other significant discounts either.
