hey it’s not a policy, it’s justa fantasy. lighten up. nobody’s advocating liquidating people. when you look at thos graphs of population it does appear to be going logarythmic (sp? menaing/) the last 50 years. there’s gotta be a limit…not sure where that limit is, but we may be reaching carrying capacity. it’ll all work out naturally, one way or the other, no need to get all huffy.

I think it’s perfectly OK to advocate recycling, renewable energy etc. I know a few jerks who are extreme and in your face about it, but most people just quietly say why they think it’s good and get on with doing their part to make it happen.
Now I happen to think that overpopulation is the greatest single contributor to environmental degradation, and to a few other problems also. So I say that, and come up with a very simple target number, just like a person advocating renewable energy might say that they think a 50% goal sounds good.
And in response, others say that is hateful? Or extreme? Hmm… Look in the mirror.

July 29, 2009 at 11:17 PM #438877anParticipantWhy do you think there’s war? It’s a natural way to control the population. Why do you think China is the only country w/ 1 child law. If you have more than 1, you’ll pay a fine. That’s why they have so many girls in orphanages. Maybe you’re suggesting everyone should adopt China’s strategy to the next level and pay fine if you have children. That will dwindle the population to 500M eventually.
