We have been distracted recently by all the financial turmoil going on around us. I have read some disturbing Armageddon type predictions, of what may lay in store for us and how our lives will become inalterably changed. It’s more the stuff of Hollywood for my tastes, but while we have taken our eye off the ball, and our guard is down I would have thought a more realistic, and less conspiratorial scenario might be that Al Qaeda would try to exploit the opportunity to it’s own political ends. You could of course argue that we are doing all the work for them. Nevertheless, however remote the possibility is of another attack, its impact would be magnified considerably by all our current woes, and terrorists leaders will clearly be cognizant of that.
