Allan,
NO ONE here is proposing any constraints on civil liberties (and I think you know that, so quit trying to steer the conversation toward Orwell.)
We are calling for the leadership of powerful American institutions to demonstrate some responsible behavior, have some class, and stop selling out to extremists just for the purpose of creating diversions and winning a few votes.
I’m calling for the Republicans and their Tea Bagger cohorts to put “Country First.”

I’m just trying to argue that the philosophies of activists who use guns and tough-guy bravado to take down “the man” often overlap with the philosophies of the right. This is evidenced by the list so graciously provided by pri_dk.
I look forward to your list of anti-government gun-wielding military-porn addicted leftist assassins.
Or maybe I’ve just had too much whiskey.[/quote]
Actually, “The Man” is sixties radical black community speak for “the establishment” and most definitely “leftist”.
