To be completely honest, when I first heard about this story I immediately felt that Sarah Palins rhetoric was responsible, and I hoped that she would suffer for it. But then I realized I was no better than what I think she is. We are all in this together. I think that it is important that we all respect one anothers opinions and not feel the need to resort to violence or even hate.
What I learned from this and hope others do too, is that we are all trying our best. And yes, it is time to tone down the rhetoric, myself included.January 10, 2011 at 10:55 PM #651047citydwellerParticipantTo be completely honest, when I first heard about this story I immediately felt that Sarah Palins rhetoric was responsible, and I hoped that she would suffer for it. Actually the assertions made in this topic HAVE been proven invalid. From the information we already know, there was absolutely no connection to Palin and the Tea party. Many posters here and the MSM have made this rush to judgment without any evidence right away.
If you and others want to keep pushing this narrative without any proof in order to create a better climate, then continue to call me irresponsible. However, labels (conservative, liberal, tea party, republican, democrat, or irresponsible) will not change the facts that there was no connection.
There have been a variety of assertions made…
some stop short of a “narrative” that “Sarah Palin” killed six people and maimed others. In your earlier posts you seemed to want to absolve your team by saying the other side does it too. What does agreeing that both sides do it and maintaining the status quo do for anyone? Are you saying there is no problem? In any case I don’t hear you asking for corrective action very loudly compared to your will to take umbrage at whatever assertions… and point fingers back. That’s how being conquered and divided works, thanks for being a patsy.January 10, 2011 at 10:58 PM #651057NotCrankyParticipant

In this case I see you as irresponsible for putting your parties image over creating a better climate.
So what do you suggest.. a restriction on speech? Dangerous slope to start down. Just who is to say how much and what is appropriate? In some ways, pointing it all out helps. Understanding it helps. I just wish the MSM wasn’t as one sided. They should also point out the Democratic party’s ‘target’ map.Problem is that the MSM profits off of the fury:
Get the widow on the set, we need dirty laundry
You don’t really need to find out what’s going on
You don’t really want to know just how far it’s gone.January 10, 2011 at 11:11 PM #651062ucodegenParticipant
In your earlier posts you seemed to want to absolve your team by saying the other side does it too.
I think he was just pointing something out. Neither side is clean.
