Adding to the waste: I listened to the author of a book that describes the end of the industrial revolution and a decline where the Preatorian guards (Evolving from the concept of a Legionary Legate’s personal bodyguard, under Augustus, the Praetorian Guard was established as the same, but instead were directly attached to the Emperor) take control of the country. He thinks most of the people at the top have no skills other than communications and they will not be able to survive because their guards will get rid of them and take over. Pretty weird stuff, but what do you expect from late night radio…
