ParticipantJust about every VAG (VW/Audi) with an FSI engine most likely is going to need a lot of T&C…Also, VW/Audi are one of the most expensive cars to maintain at when you get into high mileage because of high labor costs (parts are cheap). The issue is most moderate work requires removal of the front end (bumper, radiator in lock position, etc). This includes belts, alternator, timing belts. The traverse mounted engines are the worst.

ParticipantMy weekend car is a C6 Corvette. You can get a babied 2-3 year old Corvette for low 30s. Used Corvettes hold their value pretty good too.

Congratulations for driving stick. Few women can drive stick.
No way would I get an automatic. In fact, when I got the TT it was not intentional. I was looking for a turbo beetle at Miramar Audi/VW and they only had auto. Then they tried to sell me a convertible bug and I didn’t want it b/c it looked like an abberation of a beetle. They had the TT convertible right next to the bug convertible and I said, “If I want a convertible, I just as soon get a TT.” Half kidding. The guy said it was a certified pre-owned and they would give me a deal. Once I test drove it, that was it for me.So a friend said to check for a certified pre-owned Boxster S, like 2005/2006. Would be a little over my 30k limit. Any thoughts?
Porsches are reliable. But, maintanence isn’t cheap.
