My sense is that we are looking at a situation that is going to be x-times Chernobyl. Is it going to be 2x, 5x, 10x, 20x? Who knows. Scary stuff.
This article seems to differ. We shall see:

http://www.zerohedge.com/article/tepco-director-weeps-after-disclosing-truth-about-fukushima-disaster
He said officials should have admitted earlier how serious the radiation leaks were. Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano said: ‘The unprecedented scale of the earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan, frankly speaking, were among many things that happened that had not been anticipated under our disaster management contingency plans.” This is precisely as Zero Hedge had expected would happen all along, following our recurring allegations of a massive cover up by the Japanese government. And furthermore as we predicted a week ago when we said that continued government lies and subversions would make the situation untenable once the population loses faith in the government, this is precisely what has happened.March 18, 2011 at 12:20 PM #678416ArrayaParticipantTEPCO Director Weeps After Disclosing Truth About Fukushima Disaster

Zk: I have no plan whatsoever. I just don’t like Gaddafi Duck. I say if we have a chance to eject his happy ass, we do so and forthwith.
Well, obviously we need a long-term plan before we start bombing and shooting. I don’t like gadhafi either. But I don’t think that’s nearly enough reason to go to war.
Even if we could eject him rather easily, why would we? What are the odds that the next regime would be better? I’d say 50/50 at best. Getting rid of him might be easy, but getting who we want in there most likely wouldn’t be.
