the speed LIMIT is the actual liimit, not a suggested minimum. even in the left lane. speed kills. forget drunk driving. we could save way more lives if eevryone would just slow the fvck down…to the spped limit as the max, or perhaps, even slower!
I dont agree with this. On highways with 4 lanes or more, they should increase the speed much more or remove the speed limit in the left lane (where there are no mergers coming from the left). They should implement the left lane is for passing only and set a minimum speed limit of the max posted speed for the left lane. If implemented, this would reduce the number of clowns in ricerockets weaving in and out of lanes because the idiots that sit in the left lane (failing to move over) would be reduced. And keep in mind, Im not talking going 150 on a 65, im talking upping the speed limit to 90 on roads like the 15 and the 5 in selective areas. The part south of san clemente/ north of Pendleton is a prime example.
Speeding tickets on highways should be the last thing a cop issues, as there are far larger issues everywhere:
Talking on a phone,
Texting on a phone
Failing to move over to the right when being overtaken by a faster moving vehicle
The above item leads to weaving vehicles
Failing to use turn signals (this shit blows my mind in terms of how many people cant lift their lazy arms to signal)Cops dont issue enough tickets for the above items and they are more of a problem than speeding on a highway.
The fatality rate is lower on the Autobahn than on US Interstates. Speed doesnt kill, inexperienced drivers and hesitant/ defensive drivers kill.

Speed has to have *something* to do with traffic deaths…

Agreed speed has something to do with it. I just think there are larger issues on the highways. Speeding in residential is a whole different issue.
