If you hire professional movers just have them pick up your used pre-purchased washer/dryer on the day of the move. Our move included some unused stuff we had in an offsite storage locker. Worked out just fine.

Yeah I thought about doing that but paying them $80-90/hr to drive around and pick up a washer/dryer could get expensive quickly unless I found someone very local to buy from.
